Learn about the latest feature releases and improvements in the Connecterra Platform and how to use them
We’re excited to bring you the latest features and improvements in the Connecterra Platform. From a more accurate feed efficiency metric to easier reporting for data issues, here’s what’s new:
You can now review all your systems the Connecterra Platform integrates with, as well as the latest date and time when data was pulled from each system. This gives you more visibility into the data collection process.
Being able to trust your data starts with understanding where and how it’s collected. The data integrations overview shows how recently the data was collected from each of your systems. This allows you to use the data with confidence and easily spot any issues.
Open Settings from the left-side menu and scroll down to the Integrated data sources table.
*Note that if there are multiple types of data coming from a single system, you will see the date and time of the most recently uploaded data.
Farmers and their advisors use the “days open” metric to understand reproductive performance, but calculating this manually is a time-consuming process.
The “open days” chart helps you evaluate and optimize reproduction management and shorten the open period. This results in shorter intervals between lactations, meaning higher total production.
Go to Analytics and click Add chart. Look for the chart on the Reproduction list or search for “days open” and click to open the chart. Click Save to dashboard to pin the metric for easy access.
*Note that this is only available for farms that provide the following data: calvings, lactation numbers, inseminations and pregnancy checks.
Seeing a data point that doesn’t seem right? Now you can report data issues directly in the platform using the “Data issues” button.
This allows you to be confident in the data you are viewing while we provide the service and support you deserve.
Simply click on the “Data issues” button or the icon at the top of the chart to send us a report. Our team will investigate and get back to you promptly!
We’ve added a new feed efficiency metric that’s calculated based on energy corrected milk instead of milk yield. This accounts for fat and protein content, giving you a more accurate measurement of efficiency.
Given that feed costs are the biggest expense for dairy farms, optimizing feed efficiency can directly impact a farm’s bottom line. This metric shows how efficiently cows convert feed into milk and allows you to adjust rations or other operations for better performance. Learn more about tracking feed efficiency in our latest blog.
Add the new metric to your dashboard for easy access. In Analytics, click Add chart, search for Feed efficiency (from ECM) and click Save to dashboard.
Our weekly Farm Briefings highlight key changes and trends. To help you better understand their causes and impact, we’ve added the ability to view these insights directly on your charts.
With all the different variables on a dairy farm it can be challenging to make sense of changes in metrics. Connecterra helps you better visualize these changes and get more context by showing the insights directly on your charts.
